The Field Service Rep instructs customers on the proper installation and use of company products. Troubleshoots problems with software and hardware. Provides technical assistance both on site at customers’ locations and via phone. Documents customer contacts on report form for resolution. Reports on product problems encountered and provides any backup data supplied by customer or warranty files to assist in making sound decisions. Follows up on a regular basis on all unresolved customer issues. Maintains proper repair, maintenance and installation standards.
This is a staff level position involved in treating a variety of conventional problems, questions or situations in conformance with established criteria. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to present products and ideas in a business-like manner. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Will be interacting with clients, managers and end users of company products with varying technical backgrounds in a fast paced work environment.
The successful candidate must be a self-starter who is able to provide technical advice, equipment integration, systems development and testing in the areas of LINK 16 data link. Will also monitor and resolve connectivity and interoperability issues, and assist in the development of training for ADSI operations and maintenance. This position requires 50% travel.
Minimum Requirements:
• At least 4 years of technical experience, with 2 of them being Data Link experience, not limited to ADSI support or operations
• Experience with installation and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, communications and related interconnection networks
• Willingness to travel worldwide both on land and at sea
• Good communication skills for C41 user software and hardware maintenance training
• Experience with PCs/Tactical Data Links/Command and Control systems
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Security Clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
• Specific experience with Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI) operations and interfaces highly preferred
• JICO, CCNA, A+ Certifications. Service equivalent Technical Training course. Associates in Information Technology or equivalent degree
